I bought this bike from the Montesa distributor in late 1976. It was a magazine test bike, that had been used and abused! Gary Jones had blown third gear, and it was offered to me, for a low price, along with a new transmission! later on I received the updated clutch assembly, along with new cases. Wheelsmith did some work on the engine, and I rode this bike until 1979, when it was retired. It sat, until 1990 when it was restored to "as raced" condition.
